Three seasons of working together
Three years ago, Lidl-Trek became the first WorldTour team to fully switch from oil to hot wax. What started with supplying a few hot waxed chains has evolved into a close technical partnership.
Today, we're involved throughout the entire season. From training camps and Classics to Grand Tours, we work closely with the mechanics to make sure every rider has perfectly prepared chains whenever they need them. It's one of the partnerships we're most proud of.
“I started using Cyclowax both in cyclocross and on the road and I'd never go back to using oil. It's clean, it's fast, it's such a game changer"
A hot wax corner built for the WorldTour
When you walk into the Lidl-Trek service course, you'll find something you won't see anywhere else in professional cycling.
A dedicated Cyclowax Hot Wax Corner.
Together with the team, we designed a complete workflow for chain management. Every chain returning from training or racing is:
- Measured for wear and chain length
- Cleaned ultrasonically
- Hot waxed
- Broken in using our Chain Breaker
- Packaged and labelled, ready for the next race
It's a system built for one purpose: Making sure every rider starts every stage with the cleanest, fastest drivetrain possible.
Built together with Lidl-Trek
One of the biggest advantages of working so closely with a WorldTour team is the constant feedback.Every race. Every training camp. Every mechanic. Every rider. Those conversations help shape the products we build.
Our Race Wax Tablet is a perfect example.
Developed together with Lidl-Trek, it has become our fastest hot wax formula to date, delivering the efficiency and consistency demanded by one of the world's best teams. Because the best products aren't built in isolation. They're built in the real world.
Working with Lidl-Trek at the biggest races
The work doesn't stop once the race starts. During major stage races like the Tour de France Femmes, we're on-site with the mechanics helping prepare chains throughout the week. Hundreds of chains move through the service course. Every one of them is measured, rewaxed, broken in and made ready for another day of racing. It's meticulous work. And honestly, we love every minute of it. Because while millions of people watch the riders battle for victory, we're obsessed with something a little smaller. The chain.
More than hot waxing
Working with Lidl-Trek has taught us something important. Professional cycling isn't about one revolutionary product. It's about hundreds of small improvements that, together, make the difference. The same mindset drives everything we do at Cyclowax. Every product we develop. Every tool we design. Every process we improve. The lessons we learn inside the Lidl-Trek service course eventually find their way into the products used by thousands of cyclists around the world. That's what makes this partnership so special.
