Step 1: Wind your chain in the Spool
It all starts the same way hot waxing always has. You take the chain off the bike.
Nothing new there. Instead of hanging it on a swizzle wire, you wind the chain onto the Spool.
The Spool keeps everything neat, controlled, and easy to handle (and travel with!) Once the chain is on the spool, it’s ready to go into the heater.
“Wind up your chain, place the Spool inside the heater, press the button, wait ten minutes. That’s it.”
Step 2: press the button
Next, you take your wax tablet and place it directly into the heater. Then you place the chain Spool on top. It fits perfectly, every time. No guessing, no balancing.
On the back of the heater, there’s a simple power switch. Once that’s on, all that’s left to do is press the button on the front. An LED starts blinking. That’s the system telling you the automated cycle has started. Easy like 1, 2, 3, right?
Step 3: grab a coffee
The heater brings the wax up to 90°C, the ideal temperature for hot waxing. After about 7 to 8 minutes, the wax is fully liquid. That’s when the second part of the process begins. The heater starts vibrating. This vibration shakes the chain:
Remove fine dirt and particles from inside the chain
Let the wax flow into every small space, pin and roller
You can actually see the wax filling the chain. It’s actually quite relaxing to watch. Or is that just us? The whole wax cycle takes 10 minutes. So grab a coffee and relax while the Performance Wax Heater does all the work.
Step 4: take the chain out
When the cycle is done, you’ll hear it. The vibration stops. The heating elements turn off automatically, safety first. You take the Spool out and let the excess wax drip off.
Then you place the chain aside for about 10 minutes to cool down completely. Once cooled, you reinstall the chain on your bike.
That’s it.
